== Advertising? ==

Hey, Pakkun! This is regarding your removal of my edit to the Skyward Sword manga page, where I added a link to the English translation of the comic on my website. I understand the desire to avoid having members that use ZeldaWiki to advertise their own websites, but because I do many translations of Zelda-related material that isn't available elsewhere, I have a lot of content on my site that I feel contributes to the wiki. Does this mean I can't write about it or link to it unless someone else does first? - [[User:GlitterBerri|GlitterBerri]] 13:55, 6 July 2012 (EDT)

== The1andonlylink sockpuppet ==

There is a sockpuppet account that [[User:The1andonlylink|The1andonlylink]] has created. He has created the [[User:Link411|Link411]] account that was an obvious sock. I've saw it in the recent changes log that he should be using only 1 account. Could you block those accounts for sockpuppeting please?--[[User:Brandondorf9999|Brandondorf9999]] 08:04, 9 July 2012 (EDT)

:New users often tend to create multiple accounts, but they neither of them really ever get used, so it's a somewhat common practice. The staff have taken notice, but creating multiple accounts isn't a justifiable reason to ban somebody. If the user happens to become active, the user will be given a choice between the two accounts, and the one not chosen will be banned. However, it's unlikely that the user will become active in the first place. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 09:09, 9 July 2012 (EDT)

A discussion is taking place at the Hyrule Castle to discuss a current issue with ZeldaUniverse.net. :Thank you for informing us. However, it isn't necessary to alert us because we often check the Recent Changes, so we were already aware of the situation. Nonetheless, I have responded to the issue in Hyrule Castle. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 16:56, 11 July 2012 (EDT)

:While adding information would not have been a problem, in the process you had also removed information (the note to use FileInfo and the category tag) and changed things that did not need to be changed. [http://www.zeldawiki.org/index.php?title=Road_to_Mountain_Village&action=historysubmit&diff=327767&oldid=327758 Thanks for that!] Now the article is pretty much complete, as there isn't really anything else to add. I especially appreciate that you've added a reference for the Gossip Stone's text.

Keep up the good work! [[User:Kurtis C.|Kurtis C.]] 14:58, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

==Four Swords Manga==

I'm sorry, but I don't understand why you redid my edits on the Four Sword manga page. I was trying to edit the page so it fit the manga (Which I have) better, and to correct spelling and grammar. What did I do that made the article worse? And I really am sorry for all of the saving, but our computer crashes often and I have lost many edits I did on the wiki because of this. I saved once I was done with each paragraph. Sorry to bug you but I didn't really understand... {{:User:Darkness/sig}} 21:14, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

:I only reverted one edit, and that was to put a comma back where it was. Apart from that, I just fixed typos and replaced links. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 06:47, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

::Wait... I thought I got rid of all the typos! In every paragraph! Or did my edits not count? Sorry... (And thanks for telling me. I thought you redid the whole page...) {{:User:Darkness/sig}} 12:58, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

:::My spell-checker still caught some, so there must've been some that you missed. It's improbable that your edits didn't count, though. And no problem. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 13:01, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

::::Odd, because I have a spell checker on my computer and it caught none, but I will stop arguing because it's just not worth it. Thank you so much! {{:User:Darkness/sig}} 21:07, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

::::What do you mean by "replaced links"? {{:User:Darkness/sig}} 21:08, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

:::::It's a little something Pakkun does. People often use unnecessarily difficult ways to write links. He simplifies them to reduce clutter. [[User:Dekler|Dekler]] 22:01, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

::::::I didn't write any links... And thanks for answering my question, Dekler. Oh, and is there anything that should be added to this article? I rewrote some of it so it's not that bad anymore... {{:User:Darkness/sig}} 01:36, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

:::::::We didn't say you did. I just go around on pages and replace things like: <pre><nowiki>''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time|Ocarina of Time]]''</nowiki></pre> with <pre><nowiki>{{OoT}}</nowiki></pre> and other similar things. As for the article, I'm not sure; I haven't taken the time to look at it. I'm not sure how much I would be able to help, as I haven't read the FS manga. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 03:42, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

::::::::Sorry. And how do you put those bright blue boxes around your text? It's not working for me. (I can't sign my posts anymore, this post is by Darkness) {{nosig|Darkness|08:39, 3 November 2012}}

::You can just sign your posts with four tildes, like this: <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>. == Featured article voting ==

Hey, so Mandi brought up a good point [[Zelda Wiki:Hyrule Castle#Just a though|here]] about our Featured Article and Image voting systems. I personally would like to see a change, but that just won't happen if no one says anything or voices their opinion. I'm asking you to please voice your opinion on changing the system so we can move forwards with proposing actual changes and actually GET somewhere with this. Please and thank you!{{:User:Justin/sig}} 04:31, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

== Fi ==

Pakkun, Fi is a "she." The game directly calls her "she," and there's refs on the page to support that. Why are you changing all the pronouns to "it?"{{:User:Justin/sig}} 21:27, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

:I consider the word of Aonuma more canonical than what very well may be a translation error. I agree that I don't think it has feminine organs, but I also doubt that Fi is of the female gender. Even though Fi's voice is feminine, its style of speech is still very neutral and robotic.

:I think it's obvious that it was intended to be genderless, despite what's likely interpretation on the translator's part. It is definitely feminine, but you can program a robot to be so, yet it doesn't change the fact that it's a gender-neutral entity. (If it helps, think of Fi as a mannequin. No matter what wig or clothes you put on it or even what pose you put it in, it's still an object.)

:It's been brought up that we consider Ghirahim to be male, but that I consider Fi to be genderless. However, my counter to this is that while they may be (it's only implied) to be the same species ({{exp|Ghirahim identifies as a demon|Sword Spirit}}), I believe they're programmed differently and serve different functions. Ghirahim is prone to fits of rage, while Fi is cold and emotionless.

:If they are indeed of the same so-called species, that doesn't mean they have to have binary attributes. Ghirahim can be created as a male with {{exp|and I use that lightly|masculine}} body, organs and fallible emotions, which allow him to serve his duty as Demise's envoy.

:On the other hand, Fi was created with a feminine-ish body (including vocal cords, but I believe it lacks the female organs to identify as having female sex), but it was created to be an intellectual resource to aid Link. Its purpose is to identify and assess key information. The only time it sings is when it's orating a message or performing a duty relevant to the task of singing. For this, I just consider it a necessary application "downloaded" into Fi's memory to accomplish these duties. Basically, it's just an incidentally necessary component for Fi to have feminine traits, including the voice, so that it may fill its role. And perhaps it is because of these traits, despite their intention, that Zelda refers to Fi as female.

:In reality, I seriously doubt that Fi identifies as female in any manner. It's just as likely that Zelda treats Fi as female because she herself is human and fallible in her own right to the extent that she now shows a range of compassion that she {{exp|true to this, her description of her actions as Hylia seem very calculating|lacked as a deity}}. As for other characters, including the narrative, it may be that they're simply ignorant to the fact that it was created as a walking memory receptacle and tour guide. It's also possible that they're just ignorant to the fact that binary genders don't necessarily exist. Even Scrapper could have just a ''sexual'' attraction to Fi (the Ancient Robots have some means of reproduction, as Skipper had children), in that he is only attracted to its production design and recognizes it as a female unit. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 00:37, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

::I think that a "translation error" is out of the question when Fi is referred to as female by just about everything in the game. But you do make valid points, although I'm still not convinced. At this point, you should make a section on the talk page and see what everyone thinks. If the consensus is to use "it," then I'll concede. But until then, we should leave it as "she."{{:User:Justin/sig}} 00:48, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

==Skype==

Hello. I've been having the same problems with the Zelda Wiki Skype chat that I was having yesterday. The chat isn't appearing in my Recent Conversations, if I search it, it's not in my Contacts, and neither you nor Justin appear in my contacts. Even weirder, I changed my profile pic yesterday and it's been reverted. Do you have any idea what happened? {{:User:Darkness/sig}} 15:44, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

:Skype can tend to be glitchy sometimes. If you're using the latest version, try downgrading a bit. I used to use Skype 4. something because it allowed you to have conversations open indefinitely and it was much more organized. Of course, there might just be problems with the Skype servers. It happens from time to time.{{:User:Justin/sig}} 16:07, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

::If it manages to appear in "Recent", you can right click it and designate the chat as one of your favorites. This will basically treat the entire conversation as one of your contacts, ensuring that it shows up. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 18:45, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

:This behavior is getting to be unacceptable. Adding other users' signatures in a mock sort of a vandalism and claiming to be "arguing with yourself" is not only disruptive to other editors, but it is disruptive to the patrolling staff as well. I highly recommend you cease this behavior at once and start making productive edits.{{:User:Justin/sig}} 19:20, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

--[[User:TripleTriforce|TripleTriforce]] 14:52, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

:Let's try to not be spiteful. I don't think Justin worded it very well, but he just had meant that it's kinda a pain to go through and patrol all the edits of repeated material and that it's not really helping anyone to toy around like that. Thank you, though, for making the effort to go and make productive edits. :) {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 19:21, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Huh. But Justin has no right to accuse me of engaging in bad behavior or the wiki!!!!!!!!

== Lorule Castle/Throne Room ==

hello pakkuna, i'm a new editor here and i've recently been in a bit of a debate with [[User:KrytenKoro]] about his insistence on keeping the throne room separate from the main article for lorule castle. he seems to think that because you cannot see the rest of the castle's map while in the throne room and vice versa that this makes the throne room a dungeon all of its own. personally, i and a few others do not see that as justification for keeping them separate, as it just seems silly to single out one room in the dungeon from the rest of it to make a separate article about it based upon something like that. [[User:Hylian King]] directed us to you because he said that he has not played albw yet, but that you had. is this true? if so, do you feel the throne room is to be considered a dungeon all of its own? or do you feel that it's a part of the lorule castle dungeon and should be included in the main dungeon article as such? we would appreciate your insight in this. thanks and cheers! [[User:TheLink7|TheLink7]] ([[User talk:TheLink7|talk]]) 01:36, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

:Just to clarify the misrepresentation of my argument: Upon entering the Throne Room, you recieve a dungeon map on the lower screen that is distinct from the dungeon map recieved in Lorule Castle. To my knowledge, there are no dungeons in the entire Zelda series where you recieve multiple distinct dungeon maps for the same dungeon. The "Throne Room" dungeon map, like all other dungeon maps in ALBW, has the dungeon's name at the top, as well as the dungeon's name in Hylian script. Unlike the Lorule Castle Map, it says that it consists of only one floor; the Lorule Castle Map also does not include the Throne Room. I'm fine with something like how we treat Hyrule Castle, as a location containing multiple distinct dungeons throughout the series (so, a "Lorule Castle (location)" article that linked to both the Lorule Castle dungeon and the Throne Room dungeon), but in my opinion the game is very straightforward about separating the two areas, and we should honor that on the wiki.

:I can provide screenshots if requested.[[User:KrytenKoro|KrytenKoro]] ([[User talk:KrytenKoro|talk]]) 01:45, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

::once again kryten, i am asking for pakkuna's opinion here, not yours. i stated it very clean-cut and dried, regardless of how you seem to be trying to confuse. i would appreciate if you would let him consider the facts and quit trying to color opinion. [[User:Ghirahim87]] ([[Special:Contributions/Ghirahim87|Contributions]]) appears to have created additional accounts to create the illusion of consensus:

:this is slander, and i would like it stopped. i have no idea who ghirahim87 is or was, and i have no idea what sockpuppeting even is. i am sick of this, and i would like this stopped immediately. this is harassment. i simply noticed some of the latest edits were involving this ghirahim and a couple of others, and i noted i didn't think the other handled the situation any better than ghirahim did and that there are better ways to handle such situations. kryten has been guilty of harassing me ever since, accusing me i'm the same guy, and i quite frankly am sick of it. i'd like an admin to tell him to back off and start editing in good faith as i have been trying to. == Goddess of Time ==

Just wanted to apologize; I had gotten my memories mixed up and misremembered that Zelda had been specified as the Sage of Time.

In regards to the Master Sword -- it is said to be a ship that sails though time in OoT, and unless I'm misremembering again, SS says that Hylia created it, doesn't it?[[User:KrytenKoro|KrytenKoro]] ([[User talk:KrytenKoro|talk]]) 16:54, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

::Also, just wanted to ask about this bit, because it's specifically designed to be a segue between Nayru and Hylia, and without it the section needs to be reworked. What was the objection with it, so that I can fix it?

:::"The holder of her [[Triforce of Wisdom]], [[Princess Zelda]], is even the <s>Sage of Time,</s> one who gives Link the [[Ocarina of Time]] and teaches him the [[Song of Time]]."[[User:KrytenKoro|KrytenKoro]] ([[User talk:KrytenKoro|talk]]) 16:56, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

::::Oh, I didn't even realize that. My apologies. I just thought I would remove it all because it states those things earlier in the article ("Whoever the Goddess is, it is clear that she is linked with the Princess of Hyrule, Zelda, who is the one to introduce Link to the Temple of Time, the Ocarina of Time, the "Song of Time," and even the concept of a Goddess of Time. Using these instruments, Zelda is also...").

::::I would say that it would serve better to move that information that I quoted down below after the Nayru bit and merge it with your sentence.

::::About the Master Sword bit, I forgot that Sheik said that, so my condolences about that as well. In Skyward Sword canon, Hylia doesn't create the Master Sword; she creates the Goddess Sword, which Link then tempers into the legendary blade. Hylia further empowers it with her blessing, but I wouldn't say that she directly created it. I suppose you could get away with saying that, but it's a case of iffy canonicity in my opinion. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 17:39, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

:::In that case, may I readd it, clarifying that it's not known whether the ability was within the Master Sword as created by Hylia, or imbued by the blessings of the Sacred Flames?[[User:KrytenKoro|KrytenKoro]] ([[User talk:KrytenKoro|talk]]) 18:45, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

::::Sure, that's fine. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 19:29, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

==Poe Soul==

Also wanted to apologize for the misspelling on that page (I've noticed I've started having that problem, but my browser doesn't have spellcheck to point it out to me), and also notify you that I revised the Poe counts in text as per Chicago MoS guidelines; if Zeldawiki has a policy negating that rule, then please revert.[[User:KrytenKoro|KrytenKoro]] ([[User talk:KrytenKoro|talk]]) 17:10, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

:There's no need to apologize for misspelling. As I've demonstrated recently, we're all bound to err. :P

:I'm not absolutely certain, but I recall it was discussed and agreed that any number ten or greater should be written as numbers, and any number below nine should be written normally, so that's why I converted all of those numbers. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 17:39, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

::Okay, will revert then.[[User:KrytenKoro|KrytenKoro]] ([[User talk:KrytenKoro|talk]]) 18:45, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

== A Request! ==

Can you please tell TriforceOfPower to stop removing information off of the Palace of Winds article, I've already given the user at least three reasons why not to remove them, but the user will not listen. --[[User:Vaati The Wind Demon|Vaati The Wind Demon]] ([[User talk:Vaati The Wind Demon|talk]]) 19:50, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

:I've spoken to TriforceOfPower about edit warring, however I believe the user was right in removing the information from the page in order to split the page by game. If there are further issues, I will handle them. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 00:23, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

== Capitalization ==

Okay, I guess color me confused about ''why'' we're capitalizing all those words? It definitely indicates them to be proper nouns, and it's not like the game scripts always refer to them as proper nouns, even when they ''are'' the official names. What authority are we basing this style on?[[User:KrytenKoro|KrytenKoro]] ([[User talk:KrytenKoro|talk]]) 20:43, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

== I'm new here, any chance you could point me in the right direction? ==

Hey Pakkun, I've been browsing around in the Discussion Center and Caste Town looking for something to edit. Improvements that need to be made seem pretty vague to me and talk pages regarding things like merging, splitting, etc. haven't seen an edit in months or even years, so I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me exactly what needs work and how I could best help out the wiki. [[User:Williamlc|William]] ([[User_talk:Williamlc|Talk]]) 02:37, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

:Well off the top of my head, there's the categories for [[:Category:Articles lacking sources|articles lacking sources]]. If you have access to any text dumps, then that's always a good option. If you're up for a larger undertaking, feel free to take a swing at the [[:Category:Articles Needing Reorganization|articles that need reorganization]] and try to make those more standardized.

:Insofar as direct work that I think needs attention, [[:Template:Mask]] needs to be replaced by [[:Template:Item]], so you can assume that responsibility if you'd like. I can get back to you if you'd like to do something else or if anything's unclear, however. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 06:25, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

::Thanks! I'll go take a look at those things and see what I can do. Happy Birthday, by the way! [[User:Williamlc|William]] ([[User_talk:Williamlc|Talk]]) 19:07, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

::So I replaced all of the pages that used [[:Template:Mask]] with [[:Template:Item]]. Anything else (Template work, I mean) can I help out with? [[User:Williamlc|William]] ([[User_talk:Williamlc|Talk]]) 07:27, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

:::Sure! If I may butt in... We're currently trying to sort some of our maintenance categories by game. If you'd like, you can help us by adding relevant game acronyms to [[Template:Sources]], [[Template:Fact]], [[Template:Improve]], [[Template:Stub]], [[Template:Sectstub]], like [http://zeldawiki.org/index.php?title=Eastern_Palace_%28A_Link_Between_Worlds%29&diff=399873&oldid=399839 so]. (For the record, all our maintenance categories are found under [[:Category:Articles needing attention]].)

:::I'll let you know if I think of anything else. {{:User:Hylian King/sig}} 10:42, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

::::Sounds like a plan! [[User:Williamlc|William]] ([[User_talk:Williamlc|Talk]]) 20:14, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

::::Just out of curiosity, if a page would be tagged to more than one game, how would you put that in the template? For example, the Dark Link page would be in {{FSA}} and {{ALBW}}, so would the template there be <nowiki>{{Sources|FSA|ALBW}}</nowiki> or would it be something else? [[User:Williamlc|William]] ([[User_talk:Williamlc|Talk]]) 20:19, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

:::::That is correct, for up to six games. If an article covers more than six games then don't bother specifying them at all. Sorry for not mentioning that earlier. {{:User:Hylian King/sig}} 01:10, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

::::::Great! So if there is more than six, is there any kind of preference (Oldest first, newest first, etc.). I don't think I'll have to worry about too many of them, since a lot of things aren't really in any more than a couple games anyway. I'll resume working again a little later into the night, right now I need a bit of a break. [[User:Williamlc|William]] ([[User_talk:Williamlc|Talk]]) 02:17, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

:Though I'm not the one who's behind the template's organization, I don't believe there's any preference; I trust it all just categorizes itself regardless. {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 02:41, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

::Ah, what I meant was this: if an article covers more than six games, it's OK not to add any acronyms at all for the time being. This is still completely new, so I think it's best to start with the easy stuff first (articles covering only a few games) and move from there.

::That said, [[Template:Images]] can now be categorized by game as well. This one can have up to 20 games, which is more than enough for all of them. {{:User:Hylian King/sig}} 03:06, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

== Link picture ==

Hey, any reason for changing back the [[Link]] picture from the {{HW}} version to {{ALBW}} one? [[User:Zero-ELEC|Zero-ELEC]] ([[User talk:Zero-ELEC|talk]]) 19:28, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

:Only images from confirmed-canon games are to be placed in the infobox. Since ''Hyrule Warriors'' isn't, it can't be put there. This was a decision made back when new ''Smash Bros.'' images were released around the time of ''Brawl'', I believe (hence why ''Brawl'' images shouldn't go in the infobox either). {{:User:Pakkun/sig}} 19:35, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

::Cool beans, good to know. [[User:Zero-ELEC|Zero-ELEC]] ([[User talk:Zero-ELEC|talk]]) 19:39, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
