The Gale Boomerang is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This item is the first item Link obtains, and it can be found in the first dungeon, the Forest Temple. It is inhabited by the Fairy of Winds, though she is only heard from when Link receives the item, and is never again mentioned. The boomerang is first used by the dungeon's mini-boss, a possessed baboon named Ook, but when he is defeated by Link, the Fairy of Winds grants it to him as a sign of thanks. She also restores the boomerang to its full power, the ability to summon gales, not seen by Ook. The boomerang can be used to target up to five objects or enemies at the same time. The boomerang is used for many things such as putting out fires, cutting rope, retrieving out of reach items, sending bombs at targets, and other things, and is thus considered to be one of Link's most useful items.
