What exactly is the conversion rate between Rupees and dollars? I know it's kind of silly, but it seems very out-of-place.
A bottle = 100 Rupees in aLttP = $5 on Ebay
Flippers = 500 Rupees in aLttP = $20 on Ebay
From this it would appear that $1 = 20-25 Rupees. What do you think?
AuronKaizer - "Well, it got so that every ticked-off prairie punk who thought he could shoot a gun would ride into town to try out the Waco Kid. I must have killed more men than Cecil B. DeMille. It got pretty gritty. I started to hear the word "draw" in my sleep. Then one day, I was just walking down the street when I heard a voice behind me say, "Reach for it, mister!" I spun around... and there I was, face-to-face with a six-year old kid. Well, I just threw my guns down and walked away. Little bastard shot me in the ass! So I limped to the nearest saloon, crawled inside a whiskey bottle... and I've been there ever since." I was about to make a similar comment to yours until I saw yours of course. Haha. But yeah this is a unique/interesting discussion.
125 Rupees for a sandwich? Gunna have to go chop up grass until I get that much. Or maybe I should go break some pots. Hmmmm..... User:Docter Ted

Wow, so that seemingly huge amount of rupees that Tingle demands for deciphering maps is really just $16?
And Magic Armor will run you about 30$. Very interesting.... User:Docter Ted
Remember that the value of a Rupee changes every game.
A bottle is 900 Rupees in Wind Waker and $5 on eBay.
10 bombs is 100 Rupees in Spirit Tracks and several thousand dollars on eBay plus a free waterboarding session.
So if the American dollar was introduced into Hyrule, would that cause extreme inflation? Or is it the other way around? User:Docter Ted

Since a dollar is worth more than a Rupee, I imagine it would cause inflation.
So potions that completely revive you, useually around 30 rupees are worth basically noting. Makes me wonder why Links wallet is so small.
However, we must remember that prices rise when things are scarce. Maybe there is just a surplus on bombs and an extreme shortage of bottles in WW.Hylianhero777 (talk) 12:10, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

That sounds perfectly reasonable, given you can find bombs practically anywhere, but there are generally only 4-6 bottles in each game. What I'm wondering is why so many people sell bottled items if only a select few customers have bottles to start with...
The salespeople are in league with the company that makes the bottles. By selling bottled items, they're ensuring that anyone who wants to buy their wares will have to buy a bottle from the bottle makers. -Isdrakthul (126.96.36.199 17:00, April 18, 2010 (UTC))
