Colored Names in Recent Changes
this wiki
Forum page
Okay, so, you know me, Miss. Something's Wrong Figure Out The CSS To Fix It, so yes, aside from that, I figured out how to fix the color issue in the recent changes. Currently, we have admins and rollbackers highlighted. But there's an issue, McGillivray227, Jedimasterlink, and Minish Link's names don't show as green. I've figured out how to fix this. If you would like to see this in action, add
@import "http://bassjapas.wikia.com/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Common.css&action=raw&ctype=text/css";to Special:MyPage/wikia.css, clear your cache, and then view the Recent Changes in the Wikia/Oasis skin to see the change. While viewing Recent Changes in Oasis, ignore the orange on my name, and the brighter green on Staff and VSTF names (that's for another wiki). Fixing this, however, involves a different type of code. To do this we would have to blank the colored names bit, and add a new version of the code to it. The code being:
/*--------------------------*/
/* HILIGHTED USERNAMES LIST */
/*--------------------------*/
/*

INSTRUCTIONS
------------
The order that names appear on this list determine which title takes precedence.
A user will be marked by the last entry in this list, no matter how many entries they have.
A user will be marked with the last designation on this list that they have:
* Adminstrator/Sysop
* Rollback
Try to keep these lists alphabetised instead of adding to the end.

ALL of the code goes into the css, as you need to credit other wikis. As well as that, it'll turn the "user page" tab of the user page green/teal but that's nothing much. --Jäzzi (talk) 01:37, June 12, 2011 (UTC)
- As you know, I fully support this and think it should be implemented as soon as possible. -Minish Link 01:50, June 12, 2011 (UTC)
- Kicking this forum so that we can resolve this issue. This works perfectly on Pokémon Wiki, where it's implemented, and works perfectly on the Call of Duty wiki. Pokémon Wiki recent changes in Oasis and Pokémon Wiki recent changes in monobook. It works quite well and it should probably really be implemented if we want consistency. --Jäzzi (talk) 15:46, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
Bump
Edit
I'm just looking through Actually fully finishing things and figured this should be brought up before 1 year of inactivity. Since this is a fully proven concept I have no problems with it be implemented. --Birdman5589 (talk) 03:28, May 20, 2012 (UTC)
Per Birdie, it probably should be implemented. It works. Jazzi 02:39, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
Implementing this
Edit
We should implement this and be done with. Because it's not showing in the RC on oasis and older admins are. It needs fixing. – Jazzi (talk) 12:51, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
- Done. However, for some reason, Jazzi, your name isn't appearing with a different color. The others are, as far as I can tell. Jedimasterlink (talk) 00:30, October 22, 2012 (UTC)
- EDIT: After further inspection, it appears that Drakky's name is still the default color as well. I suspect that the coding doesn't like the umlauts in your names for some reason. Jedimasterlink (talk) 00:52, October 22, 2012 (UTC)
It's the umlaut code. I'll toss them into a message for you. – Jazzi (talk) 17:48, October 24, 2012 (UTC)
Closure
Edit
Sadly, it's still borked in Oasis. Oasis is stupid, yadda yadda. What we should do is broken, of course. So we need to put:
/*--------------------------*/
/* HILIGHTED USERNAMES LIST */
/*--------------------------*/
/*
