Hello, I'm new to Zeldapedia. However, I am an admin on the Harvest Moon wikia and know the importance of following the rules and style of the wikia. My question is how articles are named on this particular wikia.
For example, I looked at the Cave of Ordeals page because I needed to look at some information. Although I know that the Cave of Ordeals is unique only to Twilight Princess, why doesn't the title say "Cave of Ordeals (Twilight Princess)" instead of just "Cave of Ordeals"? Is it because it's a unique place only unique to one game? This was something I noticed for a lot of articles, but there are some articles that do have the name of the article with the game that it belongs to as well.
Either way, it's just a format that I'm not used to it and was wanting to ask about it. I had looked at the style manual and other rules of the wiki but couldn't find anything specific to this question. I don't want to change anything without knowing what I'm doing first, so if anybody could help then that would be great. Thanks!
- We add game names to article titles to clarify in the case that we have multiple articles with the same name. The Cave of Ordeals is unique to Twilight Princess, so the clarification is unnecessary. When we put a particular game in an article title, it's because something with the same name, but a different overall function, is present in more than one game — in other words, an overarching article would not be appropriate since they're really not the same thing, so we split the article and clarify which one we're talking about. For example, there are several dungeons called the Forest Temple throughout the series, but they are not really implied to be connected in any way. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 07:28, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, well that's all the clarification that I need, thank you!
