The Fortress of Winds
|Game(s)||The Minish Cap (2005)|
|Main Item||Mole Mitts|
Link and Ezlo travel to the Fortress of Winds in order to find the Wind Element. It is here that Link finds the Mole Mitts. After completing the puzzles of the dungeon, and defeating its boss, Mazaal, Link finds that the Wind Element is not located in the dungeon as he and Ezlo thought. Instead he finds the Ocarina of Wind and a message from the Wind Tribe. Link finds out that the Wind Tribe had long ago left the land and traveled into the Cloud Tops.
As opposed to what its name suggests, the Fortress of Winds has many ground-themed puzzles. Link must use the Mole Mitts to dig through the large amounts of solitary dirt patches found throughout the dungeon, and many puzzles involving the usage of the Bow and Pegasus Boots are littered throughout the dungeon as well, including firing arrows at Eye Switches. Link must also complete several puzzles involving levers to obtain Small Keys.
