Testing

Testing sig. --User:K2L/sig 12:28, 23 May 2011 (EDT)

IT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRKKKKSSSSSSS!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!! =D --User:K2L/sig 12:29, 23 May 2011 (EDT)

Hi again.

I just had some questions regarding some earlier edits that I did and you seemed to have corrected.

1. In the page Rock Sirloin, I removed an image and I put a message there which I guess I shouldn't have, but I just wanted to know why you did what you did. You see, I'm still getting used to some of the ways this wiki works.

2. In the page River Zora, I did some edits, a few of which seems to not have been good since you re-edited them. So I was just wondering what is wrong with adding a caption for the half-submerged river Zora sprite. Moreover, since the picture is from ALTTP, I thought it should belong to its section in the article, and seeing as it was relocated back there, I was also wondering the reason.

3. Just after I finished my recent edit there did I notice that you added this -> {{clear}}, right before the section for Link's Awakening in the same article. I was wondering why that is necessary.

4. In the sentence "They still have their well-known spitting attack, but now they additionally attack with a sword as well and block Link's attacks with a shield.", is the addition of the words "they additionally" grammatically incorrect? Just wondering.

Hoping you'll answer these questions, because they would help me to make better contributions here. User:Max 12/sig 07:23, 1 July 2011 (EDT)

1. On ZW, we don't usually remove anything from talk pages unless it really disturbs the page, like huge images or vulgar comments. Instead, we make images more appropriately sized and strike out outdated data. It's still there for users to explore, so if they have similar problems, they might be able to find the solution more easily. Besides, "Image removed" makes me really curious to find out what was originally posted :P
2. Well, the caption was pretty redundant. I'm on the Zora page, some of the images already show half-submerged Zoras, and I was in the ALTTP section. It didn't really add anything new. Also, the caption took a bit of space, and only one other image had a caption (which actually needed it), so it felt out of place. (See your edit again)
3. I'm viewing the site on a widescreen, so the picture of King Zora was going into the Link's Awakening section. The Clear template makes it so that any images don't go past it. It's nothing major, but it helps make the site more readable for people with different screen resolutions.
4. The word "additionally" has the same meaning as "as well". If I said "However, the game did not meet everyone's standards, though", you would probably feel odd reading it. Eliminating either "however" or "though" reduces redundancy and makes the sentence sound more natural.
If you feel my reasoning is bad or have any question, feel free to ask. I'm only human. Good luck improving the wiki. I can see you've got a ton of determination. User:Abdullah/sig 08:32, 1 July 2011 (EDT)
1. With such a policy that ZW has, can I still delete images like the one in that talk page which has lost activity, and the picture has no use elsewhere, as long as I do it like you did, with the filename striked out?
2. You're right. A lot of them are already half-submerged. But then again, I didn't exactly add that comment. I just changed the template around until that hidden part became visible. On that note, I have made some edits to that page again. Maybe you should ensure it's alright.
3. Having a 4:3 ratio monitor, I had no idea such problems are even occuring for others. Thanks for letting me know.
4. You are correct. Even I think I was wrong. Maybe I was feeling drowsy that time. It didn't seem right that time for some reason. User:Max 12/sig 09:36, 1 July 2011 (EDT)
1. Of course. If it has no practical use on the wiki, then tag it for deletion.
2. Yeah, I realize it's not your fault. I just reviewed them and they look great. Keep it up!
Just one last thing. When you work on the summaries for the files, could you please add some links? It makes it alot easier to access relevant information. User:Abdullah/sig 17:29, 1 July 2011 (EDT)
Sorry it took me a while to reply. The wiki has been running haywire for me for a while.
I'll try doing what you said, though most of the times, they already have the appropriate link right below them on the list of pages in which the file is being used. User:Max 12/sig 11:37, 7 July 2011 (EDT)

My username

I ment my username to bu accdude92 not what it is now can you change it for me please?Accdude92`` 03:07, 8 July 2011 (EDT)

You'll have to ask a bureaucrat for that. You can find a list of them here. Xizor is the one who changed my name, if you think that might help. If nobody answers within a few days and changing your name is really that important, you may want to consider creating a new account. User:Abdullah/sig 04:08, 8 July 2011 (EDT)

Machette picture

Where did you get the machette picture from?--Brandondorf9999 03:03, 13 July 2011 (EDT)

I made it myself by ripping the model and running it through Photoshop. I gave it a little anti-alias to smooth out the edges. Then I gave it a shadow so the blade would appear on a white background. I hope this has been helpful to you. Please ask me to clarify anything you didn't understand. User:Abdullah/sig 11:22, 13 July 2011 (EDT)
But what program did you rip the model?--Brandondorf9999 15:34, 13 July 2011 (EDT)
I load the model with BMDview2 then export a .3ds version it. By the way, I noticed some of your images look very stiff (example). Load the model into BMDview2 then drag-and-drop an animation file (.bck) into the program. The model should start moving and stuff. When the model is in a good pose, export it. When you load the .3ds file with your rendering software, the model will be in a more natural pose.
While I'm on this topic, I want to mention that some of your images are unnecessarily large. I love high-resolution images as much as the next guy, but a lot of The Wind Waker models are very simple. They just don't benefit from the insane resolution you give them. It's okay on more detailed models, like the bosses, but the machete doesn't need to be 3000 pixels wide or tall :P User:Abdullah/sig 18:54, 13 July 2011 (EDT)
I use BMDView2 but what about the bmt files. I need help with the bmt files so it can change color of the model.--Brandondorf9999 19:18, 13 July 2011 (EDT)

I've never actually played with BMTs. Based on a few quick tests, it looks like the program doesn't support them. Unfortunately, that means you have to make renders the good ol' fashioned way. User:Abdullah/sig 02:38, 19 July 2011 (EDT)

Hey Min..Adbullah

Hey man, long time, no chat! I will say that I have gotten a bit rusty on my wiki-editing, being used to the ease of wikia. In such terms, Ive been degraded to n00b once again. "sob". Any hints to get me back on editing? Thanks GFlame (Talk) - Its good to be back! 19:24, 18 July 2011 (EDT)

Hey bro! Good to see you again. If you really want to get back in the game, edit some articles, upload some pictures, make some templates. Anything, really. Just pick something you like or you see is lacking and try to make it better. And while you're at it, expose yourself to as many things as possible. Immersing yourself in the material is the quickest way to learn. User:Abdullah/sig 02:38, 19 July 2011 (EDT)

Congrats!

Hey! I just dropped in and saw your promotion!! Congrats, you definitely deserve it! :) Embyr 75  --Talk-- 18:54, 26 July 2011 (EDT)

Hey, it's been a while! I'm surprised you even remember me. :P Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it. Hopefully some good fortune will strike you soon, too. User:Abdullah/sig 19:01, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
I already congrated you on Skype, but here's more for the record! (And, Embyr, we're missing you badly =(....). --User:K2L/sig 19:31, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
Hahaha!! 'Course I remember you! =P
@K2L: Aw, thanks buddy! Miss you guys too! Life is heinously busy right now, and what little editing I do is on MetroidWiki. But I still lurk now and then. ;) Embyr 75  --Talk-- 19:41, 26 July 2011 (EDT)

Deities page

Hi! I was browsing the Deities page and saw that a user has added himself in the page :P I just thought I should contact an admin to fix it. Zeldafan1982 18:05, 29 July 2011 (EDT)

I don't think he meant it on purpose. It's just a side effect of one of the templates he's using. Anyway, thanks for pointing that out, I'll fix it. :) User:Abdullah/sig 19:47, 29 July 2011 (EDT)

Steps

File:Dragon Roost Cavern Steps.png Could you tell me what the name of the model of theses steps from the 4th level of dragon roost cavern because i want to get that model and i want to get a picture of it? I've been looking for the ones which are the ones that are brighter than these ones and they are connected and has animation in it.--Brandondorf9999 21:28, 25 August 2011 (EDT)

Re:Stone Head

Well thanks on the head stone thing but i had to contrast images more because they aren't in the right contrast. Also clouds are not silver they are white also the sky and everything needs to be correct and they have forgoten to contrast the image so its better and no issues are there. Plus i used the auto contrast thing on Photo Pos Pro which does correct and avoids turning it into fanart. Thats why i use that in the auto corrections tab in the color section. Thats why it needs to be about 15% contrasted.

Locked

I know this may go against your policy, but I noticed the Skyward Sword article is VASTLY out of date. I need to add more storyline and gameplay tidbits, so could you temporarily unlock the page? I doubt anyone would mess it up if you unlocked it anyway, and I will keep a sharp lookout.

Purlo's Grandfather {Talk||Contributions} 14:18, 2 October 2011 (EDT)

It's now open for you to play with. Treat this article with extra care, though. User:Abdullah/sig 14:32, 2 October 2011 (EDT)

Wand of Gamelon Boss Page

I'd like to create a pages for the Wand of Gamelons bosses, certain bosses like Omfak and Hectan and the Witches are already used to redirect to the Characters in the Wand of Gamelon page. Is the some way I can get the redirect pages removed or a way for me to create pages for them while still using their names? --Heroofstuff 02:22, 6 October 2011 (EDT)

Actually nevermind.....I just figured out what to do. --Heroofstuff 03:05, 6 October 2011 (EDT)
Glad to hear you got things sorted out. :) User:Abdullah/sig 06:19, 6 October 2011 (EDT)

Deleting

I noticed how you deleted some of those spam articles. Is deleting a thing only admins can do or can anyone delete pages? Seeing how I do a lot of categorizing of articles/images it would be helpful to know. Giant X 07:43, 7 October 2011 (EDT)

It's admin-only, mainly to prevent vandals from abusing it. An admin usually logs on atleast once a day, so we'll clean them up anyway. However, you can feel free to mark them for deletion with the {{Delete}} template, or you can message an admin for help. User:Abdullah/sig 08:01, 7 October 2011 (EDT)

Image Issue

I've been able to create transparent images, but when I uploaded the first image on the Wand of Gamelon Gallery page it was really tiny. Is there a way to make the image larger on that page like the other images? --Heroofstuff 05:18, 21 October 2011 (EDT)

The entire image is 189x162 pixels. However, the area of interest is much smaller, about 49x21 pixels. The rest of that space is padding. Remove the padding and make the image smaller.
Also, I noticed that you upload each new version as a separate file. It would be better if you updated the original image. You can do this by going to the image page and clicking "Upload a new version of this file". Select the image as usual, then go down to the bottom of the page and check "Ignore any warnings". Then press "Upload". User:Abdullah/sig 06:53, 21 October 2011 (EDT)
Everytime I try to upload a new image it doesn't work. I'm not sure if it takes a while to take effect or what but I've tried several times doing just as you said and nothing. --Heroofstuff 07:42, 21 October 2011 (EDT)

Element Types

Hey I noticed that you seem to create a lot of these (if not all of them). I've marked Lanayru Desert as Earth Temple, but I was hoping to add another element as well (maybe for electricity). I was wondering if this would be something that you'd be interested in doing (cause you're the expert here) or at least tell me how to do it, so I could do it myself? Either or would work. Thanks in advance! User:Smashbrother101/sig 15:54, 5 November 2011 (EDT)

Wow, those elements look terrible. They need an update. Anyway, I just made the "Electric" element for you. Tell me if you want something changed about it.User:Abdullah/sig 17:42, 5 November 2011 (EDT)
No that's perfect! Thank you very much! I appreciate it very much! : D User:Smashbrother101/sig 18:03, 5 November 2011 (EDT)
I was thinking about an electric icon myself last year, when the element concept was being introduced, but I was unable to think of a good way to push it in. Sounds good. There are a few dungeons from older games that might make use of this element, like Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly or Great Bay Temple. --User:K2L/sig 18:23, 5 November 2011 (EDT)

Spamming

Hello Abdul,

I am reaching you(or trying to) because of troublesome... I don't know what to call this. Can you please check this out: this here this odd little article was created by: Add name here, I hope my humour is welcome... I am just trying to lighten the mood. Steahl 17:27, 8 November 2011 (EST)

I'm sorry but thats not spam. Those are objects to the game.--Brandondorf9999 17:29, 8 November 2011 (EST)
No duh bud. But anyone with half a brain knows they exist. You ignoramus. Not only that you deleted the deletion template I added. Which is poor conduct on you're part. Which is meant for the admins to see. So err. Stop reverting my edits. Mkay? Steahl 17:33, 8 November 2011 (EST)
I had to revert your edits because they aren't spam articles. They are certainly objects in the series.--Brandondorf9999 17:35, 8 November 2011 (EST)

Hmmm. I guess I will have to contact an admin. You are quite annoying... and idiotic. Steahl 17:37, 8 November 2011 (EST)

No i'm not. Your not even understanding those aren't something else besides zeldawiki.--Brandondorf9999 17:41, 8 November 2011 (EST)

Mkay, so enough of the bickering. We'll sort this out. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. --Xizor 19:27, 8 November 2011 (EST)

Sorry Xixor... I have acted quite, immaturely have I? Oh and you're welcome. Just trying to help around :) Steahl 20:02, 8 November 2011 (EST)

Loftwing Statue

Could you help out with this one? I am having a hard time writting the page. I can only correct people... My know-it-allness is a disease I tell you. *-_- Steahl 13:46, 12 November 2011 (EST)

It looks pretty good. I'm not really sure what more I can add. Maybe explain how Ooccoo functions. Also, is that the official name? User:Abdullah/sig 16:35, 12 November 2011 (EST)
Yep :), pulled off of the official website. By the By, have you had any issues with lag on the website? Or even error messages? Steahl 16:38, 12 November 2011 (EST)
Yeah, I've seen a couple errors. The lag is worst in the afternoon (American time). I think it may have to do with the fact that Skyward Sword comes out in less than a week, and everyone wants Zelda news. In the last 24 hours, the Main Page got 21,000 views. We also share servers with Zelda Universe, and that sites getting a surge in activity. User:Abdullah/sig 14:11, 13 November 2011 (EST)

Thieves to Thief

Argh, been running into issues attempting to move Thieves over to Thief. I already moved Thief to THIEF and then to THIEF (Link), but I can't seem to fix the moving problem because its assuming that the blank Thief page is a real page since it has edit history (I assume). Can you fix this for me? I figure its not a good idea to just copy it across manually. Sorry about this, thanks! Fizzle 18:51, 12 November 2011 (EST)

Dany already took care of this before I could even touch it. :( User:Abdullah/sig 14:11, 13 November 2011 (EST)
