The propeller seems to be an item that is similar to the Gust Jar in use and the Deku Leaf in appearence. It is used to blow certain objects, work different switches and stun different enemies.
The boomerang is never used in the trailer for Spirit Tracks, but it is seen equipped, so it can be assumed as an item that will appear in Spirit Tracks. It is assumed that it will work the same as the boomerang did in Phantom Hourglass
