The Wind Waker Japanese boxart
This image really shows the high quality of Nintendo's Japanese video game boxart. This boxart is much more detailed than the American and European boxarts, and includes iridescent foil for a colorful effect. The newsprint-like effect on Link is pretty nice. Wwtoonlinkfan 23:45, 16 October 2011 (EDT)
- The iridescent effect is quite striking, and as a whole is visually intriguing. Miles (talk) 16:33, 23 January 2012 (EST)
- There is a lot of detail in the image, and the colors look nice.--Player1won 22:14, 18 May 2012 (EDT)
- It's kind of interesting looking, I suppose, but I can't say I'm really happy with the idea of prominently showing high-resolution product images like this (since it's something other wikis specifically tend to steer away from for legal reasons). Aside from that vague concern, we already have quite a few WW images featured, two of which have Link and KoRL as their subject matter, so I don't really feel it helps the overall diversity. Scenery from Skyward Sword
Nintendo has described the graphical style of this game as "a painting coming to life", and who could argue? With its great quality and breathtaking view, this image deserves to be featured. Minda of Darkness 23:35, 22 August 2010
- I support it. It'sa really good image to add and I like the art style. - AtrumLevis (My Talk Page) (My Contributions) 14:53, 5 September 2010 (EDT)
- Ooh... pretty. Nice, well-drawn image. I think it seems to do a nice job of representing what we've seen of Skyward Sword thus far. However, the image is somewhat bland, and seems to not have any actual focus. The reason I'm OK with that is because there are no other featured images of just scenery. —Alter {T C B H } 19:21, September 5, 2010 (UTC)
- I like how the picture is high quality. This deserves to be featured! --Zeldarules8 19:56, 28 December 2010 (EST)
- Yes. Yes. Like Alter stated, we don't have a lot of pictures of just scenery. It's very high quality, and reminds us of the joy of Skyward Sword we are to enjoy. This deserves to be featured! PreludeOfHeroes 21:47, 25 January 2011 (EST)
- I quite enjoy this image. Miyamoto-San's choice of graphic style is of course well made. The nostalgia I felt two years ago when watching 2 years ago are all the more real when I stare into this wonderful image. Steahl 07:59, 10 November 2011 (EST)
- (I love the style of skyward sword and it is a great representation of the new wave of nintendo games. This also reminds me of the W.W. storyline as I am playing, All the same it is a great image and a great way to bring zelda into the relm of the 21st century Gannondorf111 08:08, 21 November 2011 (EST)
- As Cip predicted, there are now other similar images of Faron Woods, so nothing to really set this one apart. Also, there are plenty of other, arguably more interesting landscape shots from SS. I feel like the first image we feature from the game should be something more engaging and representative. User:Adam/sig 02:27, 28 February 2012 (EST)
- Indeed. As beautiful as this picture is, I don't find it stands out from the many other awesome Skyward Sword landscapes. Lake Floria, Eldin Volcano, the Ancient Cistern, and the Fire Sanctuary are just a few examples. I wish we could just feature all of them! — Hylian King [*] 07:15, 29 February 2012 (EST)
- I have a strong feeling this image is going to end up being "one in a series", given the Cezanne-like landscape artstyle of Skyward Sword. It wouldn't make any sense if this was the only landscape-like piece Nintendo cranks out in the Skyward Sword era because the image work is so brilliant. I'd just rather wait and see than to vote now. User:Cipriano/sig 19:06, 3 January 2011 (EST)
- This image just makes me think about how much I am going to LOVE Skyward Sword. It's a pleasant reminder each time :D (Unsigned vote - see rule 6 above)
- I am looking forward to september for skywar sword's release and think that this should be featured. (Unsigned vote - see rule 6 above)
Mirror of Twilight (Front)
The Mirror of Twilight is a very beautiful work of art that is rarely seen in the series. Vastly unique. But the problem is that arguably the back side of the Mirror is just as beautiful and is even more obscure and rarely appreciated. It's appearance is so intricate and alluring on either side that you can't stop staring at it. (Now we now why Yeta couldn't stop looking at it!) So I'm choosing to nominate them both at once. This one is for the front of the mirror. Scroll down the page for the back! GO VOTE!User:Matt/sig 01:51, March 30, 2011 (UTC)
- This image is wonderful. it really displays the great detail that went into Twilight Princess. it's a fairly high-quality image and does include one of the Legend of Zelda series basic icons, the legendary Triforce.Vulpix001 19:46, 20 July 2011 (EDT)
- This is image is supported by me because i think the Mirror Of Twilight is a very cool item also if you look at this picture it gives off kind of a rotating illusion.Sammoldy 04:20, 3 November 2011 (EDT)
- This is a very beautiful image, and it is not blurry or dark. Also, the main focus of the picture is the mirror, because there is no background to get in the way. --12:36, 23 October 2011 (EDT)Person777 12:36, 23 October 2011 (EDT)
- While it looks OK in thumbnail view, I have to say I don't think the image quality is good enough to feature it. There's that weird black line around the inner edge. And the fact that it's angular instead of circular... Also, as a unique magical object, to me it's much more epic when it's actually doing it's thing than just sitting there as a flat surface. EDIT: Plus, this version is significantly better! User:Adam/sig 02:27, 28 February 2012 (EST)
- it's really blurry in the full view, plus the edges are a bit jagged--Themudkipman 12:42, 22 May 2012 (EDT)
- Agreed on what the previous two comments have said...the image in full view is not as pleasant as the thumbnail view: blurry and rough edges are not qualities of a featured picture. --Dany36 13:57, 12 July 2012 (EDT)
- This image seems to be of mediocre quality. While viewing the image in full size, i noticed that the black line around the edge of the mirror seemed jagged in some places. I also noticed this with the edges of the image itself. In addition, the entire image appears a little blurry, as if it was scaled up from a smaller image. --TheHK (T) (C) 13:13, 27 August 2011 (EDT)
Great Fairies from The Wind Waker
The simplicity and pastel color combinations of this image flow quite nicely and add to the mystique given by the Fairies' appearance. This image also features a stellar transparency!User:Mandi/sig 20:11, July 15, 2011 (UTC)
- This picture is very well put together and must have taken a while to compose, it really shows off the great colours the fairies have. Broojo02 12:05, 3 September 2011 (EDT)
- I agree. The colors of the Great Fairies are amazing and interesting. I believe this beats everything else we have currently. - AtrumLevis (My Talk Page) (My Contributions) 17:19, 5 September 2011 (EDT)
- Out of all the stellar pictures available of the Figurines in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, this one takes the cake. — Hylian King [*] 18:13, 5 September 2011 (EDT)
- I'll echo Hylian King's sentiments, here. All the figurine images are spectacular, but this one, with its gradient colors, really reflects the "eye candy" art style of The Wind Waker. I would love for it to be on the front page for more people to enjoy. —Embyr 75 --Talk-- 19:03, 5 September 2011 (EDT)
- I really enjoy the colors in this picture and I could stare at it for hours I thnk it deserves to be featured Sammoldy 03:02, 10 November 2011 (EST)
- This image is exploding with life. The 8 pairs of arms give the piece some motion and complexity which is offset by the simple colors and beautiful lighting. If you've ever collected figurines in The Wind Waker, you'll find that many of them feel dead and unrewarding. However, this piece is worth the effort required to obtain it. User:Abdullah/sig 18:54, 15 December 2011 (EST)
- Great image; I've always liked the design of the Great Fairies from The Wind Waker best out of all the games. Excellent transparency by Josh and re-touching by Abdullah; thanks guys! User:Adam/sig 03:05, 29 February 2012 (EST)
Artwork of the Triforce
Very detailed, high-resolution image. Meets featured image criteria, as well as image quality standards. The image is also quite sharp. It also (of course) covers a Zelda-related subject, the Triforce. -Cuddles (Sit next door) 22:56, 11 July 2012 (EDT)
- It's definitely an interesting image, buuuut I'm not so sure about the quality of it... I doubt there is one with better quality floating around the internet, but if there is, I'd be more than glad to give this my support! --Dany36 13:55, 12 July 2012 (EDT)
