The Fighter's Shield (also known as the Hero's Shield) is an item from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. The Fighter's Shield is obtained from Link's dying uncle, along with the Fighter's Sword. Since it is the first, this shield is the smallest and weakest shield in the game. Later in the game, Link can purchase a bigger shield, or throw this shield in the Fairy Fountain near Lake Hylia to get the bigger one. If at some point the shield is eaten by a Like Like, the player can purchase a new one.
