Farore, also known as the Goddess of Courage, is a recurring character in the Legend of Zelda series. She is one of the three Golden Goddesses that created Hyrule; she, along with her sisters Nayru and Din, created the land of Hyrule out of chaos, each providing their part in the process. Upon departure, they left the Triforce, the essence of their power, in the Sacred Realm. As the Goddess of Courage, she is associated with the Triforce of Courage and Link.
Farore is the master of natural magic, and to an extent, life. According to the Great Deku Tree, she created the life forms on the earth. The spell Farore's Wind is named after her. In The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Tingle claims that Farore is the "Goddess of Wind", and it is likely the Deity the Wind Temple is dedicated to. The jewel Farore's Pearl is believed to be a treasure of the goddess, and is held by the Great Deku Tree.
The oracle, Farore, is named after the goddess. In The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, the Faron Province, Faron Woods, and the Ordona Province are named in her honor (when the prefixes of Faron and Ordona are combined). Similarly, the Light Spirit Faron and its spring, as well as Ordona with its spring are named after Farore.
