The Essences of Nature are quest items in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons.

The Essences of Nature, eight in all, are sacred items that contain the very essence of the various aspects of nature and growth. However, when General Onox imprisoned Din, the Oracle of Seasons and threw seasons of the land of Holodrum into chaos, these were all stolen and taken away into eight dungeons around Holodrum. When they were removed, they sapped the Maku Tree of many of his powers. As Link retrieves more and more of them, the Maku Tree is restored to his former glory, and he is able to produce a Maku Seed, which is needed to enter Onox's Castle and free the imprisoned Din.
