May I ask a question? Is there some reason I can't give information about the areas in which the dungeons in The Adventure of Link lie? I was personally going to try to get information up on a lot of those places- the link to Three Eye Rock, for example. Even though the article did not yet exist, I'm currently playing through the game and scouring it for information on these places because quite a few of them- like the Parapa Desert- had no mention at all in the wiki. I'm honestly confused; a lot of those articles were considered stubs and I was adding in information I could provide sources for, and yet they've been reverted across the board. I'm not mad, just thoroughly confused. I just want to get more info up on Zelda II because it's one of my favorite games in the series and half the place articles for it are considered stubs. Thanks in advance for taking the time to enlighten a n00b such as myself in the finer points of working on a wiki. [[User:Dinosaur bob|Dinosaur bob]] 22:38, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

Yo. I heard you were the one who made the ZW Firefox Search plug-in (which I've been using to no end), and that you were looking for the ZW favicon a year and a half ago. It currently doesn't have an icon, or the version I'm using anyway, so I'm guessing you never found one? Sorry I couldn't get back to you earlier, I've been very busy. Anyway, I apologise that I sounded rude and that you felt insulted after what I said on ando's talk page. I did not mean to be insulting or rude. I also apologise for not understanding your sarcasam, I jumed to conclusions and I shouldn't have done that. :Because Starship ZUChat is primarily a ZI/VGRC community entity, and should not have been merged into the ZU page in the first place. On Zelda Wiki, there are specific expectations of what is and isn't considered canon. Canon refers to a body of materials considered to be an official or genuine part of a fictional universe. It is what can be specifically referenced as factual information within the given universe, and so therefore, canon is often seen as the official series as released by the original creators.

What exactly constitutes and makes up the canon materials of the Zelda series is not entirely clear-cut, is often open to personal interpretation from fans, and can even vary across time. Zelda Wiki's canon policy is based upon what is commonly accepted as canon, and through developments from Nintendo.

Material and Their Levels of Canon

The following terms indicate the three levels of canon as used throughout Zelda Wiki:

  • Canon — This material makes up the fictional universe and should be added to any relevant articles or sections.
  • Ambiguously Canon — This material cannot be definitively considered canon, but as it does not necessarily contradict canon sources, is considered canon by many people. It can be added in articles or sections marked with the {{ambig}} template.
  • Non-canon — This material is not part of the fictional universe. It can be added in articles or sections marked with the {{noncanon}} template.

Ambiguously canon and non-canon material can be added to any article as long as it remains separate from canonical information, and is marked with the appropriate template as mentioned above.
