Dodongo Snakes are mini-bosses from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. They look rather like black eggplants with mouths at the base. They appear in Key Cavern, Face Shrine and Turtle Rock.
[edit] Strategy
Just like the Dodongos for which they are named, Dodongo Snakes are destroyed by Link's Bombs. Link must feed each snake three bombs to defeat it. He must carry a sufficient number of bombs into the room with him before the battle begins; if he leaves to acquire more, he must start the battle from the beginning when he returns.
[edit] Glitch
There is a glitch in the game which sometimes removes the necessity of this particular battle. Although not guaranteed to happen in every game, it will sometimes come to pass that if Link leaves the room after defeating one of them and returns, the Dodongo Snakes will be dead when he comes back.
[edit] Trivia
- It is unknown whether or not this is an actual species of Dodongo or whether it was named after them for its similar weakness to bombs.
