Death Sword is the mini-boss of the Arbiter's Grounds, the fourth dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. A giant sword and its wielder combine to make the mini-boss. After the wielder of the sword had passed away, the sword remained lodged in the ground in a room in the Arbiter's Grounds. His ghost haunted the old blade, which led an unknown party to seal it inside the sword with magic.

Upon entering the room, Link breaks the seal on the sword by cutting one of the "ropes" that held it. The apparition appears and battles him.

[edit] Battle

While the spirit is invisible to the naked eye in its incorporeal form, Link can see it by transforming into a wolf and using his beast senses. Once it has been attacked by Wolf Link, Death Sword will take on its corporeal form in order to utilize its full strength in battle. In this form, it is vulnerable to direct attacks and as such, will stay out of Link's reach while pelting him with magic bolts.

An arrow (or a hit from the Clawshot if arrows run out) will anger Death Sword and make it circle around Link in hopes of confusing him before coming in to attack again. By combining wolf and human attacks the Death Sword can be easily defeated, at which time it explodes into hundreds of flies that disappear though a hole in the ceiling. The room lights up again and allows Link to take the Spinner.
