Deadrocks are recurring enemies in the Legend of Zelda series. They are small creatures with a mild resemblance to the Goombas of the Mario series, but with vestigial wings. The name "Deadrock" is derived from their defensive mechanism; when hit by a sword, Deadrocks turn into invulnerable stone statues for a short period of time. This can also block Link's path.

[edit] The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Deadrocks are found on Death Mountain. They move rapidly in straight lines, and deal a fair amount of damage to Link should he get hit by one. Deadrocks can only be killed with Magic Powder or the Quake Medallion. While these spells don't actually defeat Deadrocks, they turn them into Slimes, which can be easily defeated with a sword attack.

[edit] The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures

Deadrocks are found in the Death Mountain Foothills. They can be destroyed either by moving the giant Moving House or with the Magic Hammer.
