Template:Character The Street Merchant is a recurring character in Template:LZS. In all of his appearances, he is a merchant who sells wares on the streets of a town, most commonly Kakariko Village.

Appearances

A Link to the Past

The Street Merchant sits on a carpet directly west of the Weathercock in Kakariko Village. Link can buy a Magic Bottle from him for 100 Rupees.[1]

If Link brings him a Fish from the Great Swamp, the Street Merchant will give him 21 Rupees, 10 Arrows, 8 Bombs and a Magic Jar in exchange for it.[2] If Link brings him a Golden Bee, he will buy it for 100 Rupees.[3]

A Link Between Worlds

In A Link Between Worlds, the Street Merchant appears in the same location, vending a Bottle and Hearts after Yuga seals Seres within a Painting. When Link first meets him, the Street Merchant tells Link that he should be prepared for the troubling times.[4] After the Shady Guy has stolen the Smooth Gem from Oren, queen of the Zoras, and pawns it to the Street Merchant,[5] he will sell it for 200 Rupees.[6] If Link tries to purchase a Heart from the Street Merchant with full health, he will refuse to sell it to the young hero in order to save on Hearts.[7]

Smooth Gem 200 Rupees

Tri Force Heroes

In Tri Force Heroes, the Street Merchant appears in the town of Hytopia, selling Materials at a stall across from Madame Couture's. He opens up shop after the Links have completed the Woodlands area of the Drablands. The Materials he sells are typically very expensive, but his selection often includes rare Materials that are otherwise hard to come by. Some Materials, such as the Frilly Fabric, are exclusive to his shop. The Street Merchant will restock every day, in real-time. The Street Merchant remarks that Link seems familiar, implying that he may be the same Street Merchant from Hyrule.[8]

Aside from selling Materials, the Street Merchant can also buy Materials from Link. He will only buy Materials if Link speaks with him directly, by breaking the pot to the right side of him. If the Street Merchant sees the black ghost lurking around town, he will buy Link's Materials at twice the price.[9] The Street Merchant will not purchase the Lady's Glasses, Collar and Parasol from Link, as he finds items belonging to the witch creepy.[10]

The Street Merchant also has a blue tent next to his stall. It is too dark to see inside, requiring that Link wear the Light Armor to take a look. Volume 7 of the Drablands Diary can be found inside the tent.
