"You got the coral earring! It's made of precious coral from Zora's Domain. It's in the shape of a fishhook. It's lovely! It's been added as a hook for your fishing rod! With this, you can now catch reekfish!"
— In-game description

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The Coral Earring is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It is given to Link by Prince Ralis of the Zora tribe after Link shows him Ashei's Sketch of Yeto. The earring is in the shape of a hook, and is needed in order to catch a Reekfish, who are attracted to the coral it is made from, near the Mother-and-Child Rocks in Zora's Domain. Upon the successful capture of a Reekfish, Link can switch into wolf form and pick up the fish's scent. He can then track down Yeto, who had taken reekfish from the area, into the Peak Province and eventually find the Snowpeak Ruins, where a Mirror Shard is found.

Interestingly, it is also required to catch the Sinking Lure in the Fishing Hole.
