The Chief Soldier is a mini-boss from The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures. He serves as the main enemy of Lake Hylia, as well as a standard enemy in many subsequent stages, including Hyrule Castle, the Death Mountain Foothills, The Field, and The Swamp.

The Chief Soldier is always accompanied by other Hyrulean Soldiers. To dispatch the Chief Soldier, Link must simply attack him with his sword. After he and all his minions have been defeated, large amounts of Force Gems will fall from the sky, and Tingle will fly in, attempting to collect some.
