Carock is the boss of Maze Island Palace, a dungeon in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Its appearance is that of a very tall, red-robed Wizzrobe with a face-obscuring hood, revealing only its deathly white eyes in the darkness. Both his appearance and pattern of movement are different in the Japanese version of the game.

[edit] Battle

Carock can only be damaged by with the help of the Reflect Spell. An easy way for Link to defeat it is to simply move over to one of the far corners of the room, effectively making Link face the rest of the room. Then, he can simply duck, all of Carock's spells should be reflected, and Link should be less likely to end up in the line of fire.

[edit] Speculation

Theory warning: This section contains theoretical information based on the viewpoints or research of one or several other users. It has not been officially verified by Nintendo and its factual accuracy is disputed.

Carock bears a striking resemblance to the Evil Wizard from the The Adventure of Link backstory. The Evil Wizard is never seen in-game, but there are pictures of him in the instruction manual for The Adventure of Link; these pictures greatly resemble Carock. Though nothing is ever mentioned about this, it is possible that the two share some kind of connection.
