Buzzblobs are recurring enemies in the Legend of Zelda series. Mobile creatures made of goo, Buzzblobs may be a forerunner to the ChuChus appearing in later games in the series. Buzzblobs are passive, but they generate large amounts of static electricity. Although this could be both a defense mechanism as well as a weapon with which to stun its potential prey, the former seems more likely. Link cannot defeat these creatures with his sword (the Golden Sword being the only exception to this rule) as it channels the electricity to Link, causing him to be temporarily stunned. Instead, he must resort to projectiles to defeat a Buzzblob. Furthermore, if Link sprinkles Magic Powder on a Buzzblob, it becomes a Cukeman and speaks gibberish when talked to.
The easiest way to slay a Buzzblob is to first stun it with the Boomerang or Hookshot, and then finish it off with a Sword, bombs, or arrows. In A Link to the Past, the Bombos, Ether, and Quake medallions are also effective against Buzzblobs.
