Big Octorok (大オクタロック Dai Okutarokku?) is the boss of the Temple of Droplets, the fourth dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. Despite its name, it is not actually a giant Octorok; rather, Link's small size makes it seem larger than normal relative to himself. Big Octorok is frozen when Link enters the Temple of Droplets. When Link unfreezes the Water Element, however, he also unfreezes the Big Octorok, who proceeds to suck in the Water Element and retreat into the room behind him.
The battle begins in shallow water, where Big Octorok will spit rocks at Link. Link must reflect them with his sword or shield to damage Big Octorok. After enough hits, Big Octorok—as well as the floor—will become covered in ice, and the Big Octorok will gain another attack: it will attempt to suck Link up and spit him out. In its ice form, Big Octorok does not spit rocks, so Link must run around it to set the plant attached to its back on fire with the Flame Lantern. The Big Octorok will panic when it is set ablaze and will begin charging around the room. Before long, the ice on the Big Octorok and on the floor will melt. Link must now battle Big Octorok by deflecting its rocks again. After this sequence has repeated a few times, Big Octorok will appear to spit out an inky substance that makes the room dark. Link should then use the Flame Lantern to see and avoid Big Octorok's charges; after this, the battle returns to normal. After defeating Big Octorok, Link gains the Water Element.
