Bellumbeck is the final boss from The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. He is the Bellum-possessed form of Linebeck. As this boss has no official name, the fans had dubbed him "Bellumbeck", which is a portmanteau of the names Bellum and Linebeck.

[edit] Biography

When Linebeck used the Phantom Sword to attack Bellum's tentacles, which were holding Link and Tetra captive, the creature gathers darkness around him, and makes him take the form of a giant Phantom. The music that ensues is a heavily dramatized version of Linebeck's theme. Bellum then attaches to the Phantom Linebeck's back and faces off Link in a final showdown.

[edit] Battle

When you begin the battle, you run around, and Ciela gives you a Phantom Sphere to pause time. Use it, then hit Bellumbeck in the back where his weak spot is. Ciela complains about how the eye isn't open and goes on the top screen and gets captured by a tentacle. Then the real battle begins.

[edit] Strategy

Bellumbeck has three attacks; a Down Swipe which is a straight down swing with the sword; a side swip, usually starting with a jump to the side, a quick motion to the side; and the Hurricane Spin; this last attack actually makes a hurricane that can damage you multiple times and lasts about 10 seconds.

The way to beat Bellumbeck is to attack, wait, then strike; running away will cause Bellumbeck to do a Hurricane Spin Attack. Attack him until he jumps to the side and then dodge, and repeat until you enter the "RUB" sequence, where you rub the stylus to clash swords against Bellumbeck. If you overpower Bellumbeck, he loses his balance, and you can strike him to cause Ciela to give you a Phantom Sphere. Now, keep an eye on the top screen until Bellum opens his eye, then use the Phantom Sphere to pause time and strike Bellum's open eye until time resumes and he jumps to the side. Repeat this process until Bellumbeck dies. Take note that you can counter his Hurricane Spin with your own spin attack and this will cause you to go to the "RUB" sequence.

Another way to get Ciela to make Phantom Spheres is to keep on target attacking Bellumbeck until you go to the "RUB!" stage and directly after you rub, attack Bellumbeck when he is falling backwards. This will allow Ciela to create a Phantom Sphere. If he jumps away while attacking him, and starts to slash you, just keep on attacking him. You will eventually go into the "RUB!" stage.

It should be noted that if should you use a infinite health cheat from a Action Replay DS, it will not let you go into the rub stage.
