[edit] The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

The "Ballad of the Wind Fish" makes its first appearance. This song is a favorite of Marin's, and she teaches Link the song on his Ocarina in Animal Village. The song, along with the eight Instruments of the Sirens, is needed to enter the Wind Fish's Egg and awaken the Wind Fish. Interestingly, the Pols Voice enemies found in the game are vulnerable to the song; if Link plays it while near one, it will self-destruct.

[edit] The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

The "Ballad of the Wind Fish" is part of a small sidequest. During the opening hours of the Milk Bar on the First and Second Days, Toto, manager of The Indigo-Gos is testing the performance stage. Upon seeing Link, he asks him if he wants to help him out and play the instrumental parts of the song. Link uses his transformation masks to play the different instrumental tracks of the song with their different instruments. Link plays it in his Deku, Goron, and Zora masks as well as his normal Hylian form. When the different tracks are being performed, Gorman, leader of the Gorman Troupe complains about how bad it sounds. After the performance is succesful, however, Gorman is moved by the song, which he had heard once in his childhood and inspired him to join showbusiness. As thanks, he gives Link his Circus Leader's Mask, a mask bearing his likeness.
