Unofficial Name

Arrow Orbs are recurring objects in the Legend of Zelda series. These levitating orbs are adorned with an arrow-like design. Their principal function is re-firing arrows that have been shot at them in whichever direction the orb's arrow points, allowing Link to hit objects that he could not hit previously with his Bow. The direction in which the arrows are shot can be changed by hitting the Arrow Orb with the Boomerang, the Whip, or his sword; every time it is hit, the arrow's direction rotates clockwise to the next compass direction.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Arrow Orbs appear in dungeons. The direction in which they fire an arrow can be changed if they are hit by the Grappling Hook, Boomerang, or sword.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

Arrow Orbs in serve the same purpose as in Phantom Hourglass. However, in Spirit Tracks, orbs can be picked up and thrown by Link or a possessed Phantom and may even be used while held by a Phantom. Arrow Orbs may be used to change the direction of normal arrows as well as Light Arrows. The directions of an Arrow Orb is changed if hit by the Boomerang, Whirlwind, Whip, or sword.
