The Ancient Ones are characters mentioned in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. According to the Happy Mask Salesman, they are an ancient tribe that used Majora’s Mask in their hexing rituals. The mask caused a lot of trouble in their possession, however; so, fearing a catastrophe, the Ancient Ones sealed it away in shadow, preventing its misuse. For reasons unknown the tribe vanished prior to the events of the game.
