"Are you really prepared to see this quest all the way through to the end, without giving up halfway through, Link?!"
— Abe

Abe is a character from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. He is a Hylian man living on Outset Island with his wife and sons.

Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.

When he was younger, Abe had many women who wished to be his partner. However, when he met his future wife, Rose, he fell in love and asked her to marry him. Though he was unsuccessful at first, he kept trying until eventually he succeeded in having her hand in marriage. Abe and Rose later had two sons together, Joel and Zill.

Before Link leaves for the Forsaken Fortress, Abe can be found trying to catch a wild pig. Link can help him catch the pig and give it to Rose. The pig is named Link by the family, and kept as a pet. Also, the other pigs previously found on the island are hinted at by Abe's sons to have been eaten by the family.

Spoiler warning: Spoilers end here.

It seems likely that Abe is based on Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. Many of Abe's facial features, including his facial hair, are similar to that of the famous president, and one of Lincoln's nicknames was "Honest Abe".
