• 1— The Nintendo 64DD is released in Japan. This expansion system for the Nintendo 64 was to have three games on it: Zelda 64, Zelda Gaiden, and Ura Zelda. Zelda 64 was renamed to Ocarina of Time and Zelda Gaiden was renamed to Majora's Mask, both released for the Nintendo 64. Ura Zelda, however, was never released until it was possible to pre-order The Wind Waker, where it was renamed Ocarina of Time Master Quest.
