• 23— The Satellaview is released in Japan. This expansion system for the Famicom was the only way to play the games BS Zelda no Densetsu and BS Zelda: Kodai no Sekiban.

• 24— The Nintendo 64 is publicly introduced as the Nintendo Ultra 64 at the 7th Annual Shoshinkai Software Exhibition in Japan. It was on this system that gamers would be able to play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
